A little sketchiness goes a long way

sketch for painting #4 ball point pen on paper

I painted over the daisies. I didn't like them or the background they were on. I'm sorry if you liked them....but they are no more. But lament not...they have been replaced with argyle. Yes, it may match your sweater vest. At the very least it matches mine....

Sketching, class, work, yoga, blog....it was a very full day. I did a little bit of painting, but not much. Really all that I had time for was this sketch. I woke up with this image in my head at 1:30 this morning, but I was too lazy to get out of bed and draw it in my sketchbook. Instead, I woke up every hour after that, still with the image in my head. It will be the subject of the painting once I'm finished with the argyle. I'm quite focused on his cap and his coat...and I have some pretty groovy ideas for the gulls. He's not playing the harmonica. He might be lighting a cigarette, but I'm not entirely sure yet. I'm just about finished with the argyle painting. It needs some inky details and then it's done...and I have two whole days of creative hermit-age (?) ahead of me. (I'm not entirely certain that is a real word). Yesterday I posted the finished paintings for the show so far under the "2010 works" if you want to find them quickly. One of them is already sold! Not bad for a few days work so far.

Eating pistachios is really not conducive to typing, so I shall finish them and head to bed. Two whole days in the studio. It's like a vacation! Can't wait to show you the fruits of the shenanigans.

Game on...
