one hit wonders

I paint. I love it. I post a picture of it. I hang it. It sells and the cycle continues. But just don't get it on the first try. It seemed like a great idea at the time...and at first I loved it, but then, after tea and a few more glances AFTER I posted it, I decided it wasn't working out between me and this particular idea....and that it was time to end it.

This is what it was. I was taking Gershwin for a walk the other night, and caught sight of a lovely yellow canopy of an elm tree illuminated by a street lamp at night. It is STILL a good idea, but I tried painting it from memory and am not that happy with the result.'s being painted over. I've sanded it down already and I think it might end up being a Newfoundland painting. You paint some, you paint over some...they can't always be one hit wonders.

November is coming up fast and the show is shaping up pretty great. There is still so much work to do especially since some of the pieces are very large, but it's going good. The studio is a very busy place these days. That being said....I had better get back to it.
