It rained again this morning (shocking for a rainforest, I know!) so we slept in and had a leisurely breakfast of eggs, bacon, and hot Baileys with some coffee for colouring while we hung around the campfire in our pyjamas and cold weather layers, which were super stylin'!
I sketched the view of the little bay we can see from our campsite. The Canadian Princess is the white shape off to the lower left. She's moored here permanently, but you can still go aboard and stay in one of her rooms if you like. She's a floating resort now.
The crows like to make quite a ruckus in the trees here in the morning. Then they flit from perch to perch, inching closer to see what the hell you are doing. This one wasn't so brave and stayed in the trees on the other side of the neighbouring camp spot because Coltrane was eyeing him up like he'd be fun to make friends with.
When it stopped raining we went back to the Wild Pacific Trail near the Ucluelet Lighthouse so I could sketch by the sea.
The BD say and read, the dogs deterred other tourists from visiting the bench that we occupied, and we soaked up the sounds and smells of the pacific. She gave us quite a show, and I made a lovely sketch.
The only thing I didn't get to sketch today was boats, but we head to Victoria tomorrow, so there might be time for that yet.
Happy Saturday from our cozy camp to yours.
