Postage paid

"Postcard from Halifax" mixed media on canvas, 8" x 8" SOLD

Do you like getting stuff in the mail? I do. It's nice to have an abundance of creative friends that like to use the postal system, because I love getting mail. Especially art mail. I have some friends who are into this "post secret" thing, and I've looked at some of the postcards that come from that project. It's pretty neat. Some people come up with very interesting imagery. I'm also a fan of Griffin & Sabine (thank you Feisty Librarian!), which is a series of books of postcards sent between the two characters. The images are very inspiring and the story is cute...and if you aren't sure what I'm talking about, you need to make a trip to your local independent book store and see if they carry them!

Anyhow, with that in mind...those things inspired today's one-a-day...along with continuing in the theme of my travels in the East coast. This image contains real red maple leaves from Fredericton, and the building tops are of the Citadel in Halifax. So many adventures, so many pictures...so many ideas for paintings. Seriously, there are not enough hours in the day.
