We got home last night at 8:30pm, unpacked the car, ordered pizza, unpacked our backpacks, emptied the cooler, put the towels and dog blankets in the wash, ate pizza, washed and settled blissfully into our own bed. The puppies sprawled on the couch, the floor, one dog bed and then another. It was nice to not be in transit, or in a full vehicle. It's nice to be home.
I suck at easing into anything. For me, it's best to dive straight back into daily routines. I opened the cafe this morning, ran some errands, answered some emails and took better photos of the oil sketches I made on the trip. They are available for purchase. They're $150 + GST and if you don't live in Edmonton, shipping is included! Just email me (firstname.lastname@example.org) and put the title of the sketch in the subject line. I haven't signed them yet, and they need a few more days to dry before they can be handled or packaged and shipped. But I will get them out to you as quick as I can.
