when we used to play

I like hockey. Not NHL hockey. I don't care about the lockout and I'm not following what's going on. I don't have a favorite team or anything. I just like hockey. Especially shinny in a local outdoor rink. I love the sound the puck makes as it hits the sideboards on a cold winter night when I'm walking by with my dogs. I like watching people maneuver in an agile fashion on shoes with blades on ice. Mostly....I like people having fun together, outdoors. Also, it's fun to paint from old photos that I find. That is what inspired this little series; when we used to play.

Knitted hockey sweaters. Leather shin guards. Dapper hair styles. Smiling faces. Being glad you have time and friends to play with. These are the last of the little canvases I'm working on for the Nov 29 craft sale at the Roxy Theater in Edmonton....so I will post the finished versions later. Though, I am tempted to try and get a few more done before the sale. We'll see. I have a large pile of books I'd like to read also, and a small list of Christmas gifts to begin too.

Game on.
